〜ほど〜ない

Formation:

Noun + ほど〜ない

X is not as ~ as Y. Both X and Y are similar in degree, but when compared, X is slightly less than Y.

今日は昨日ほど暑くない。

Today is not as hot as yesterday.

私は兄ほど背が高くない。

I'm not as tall as my older brother.

彼女は思ったほど若くない。

She's not as young as I thought.

この店は前ほど混んでいない。

This shop is not as crowded as before.

日本語は英語ほど難しくないと思う。

I think Japanese is not as difficult as English.
