By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements. If you do not meet these requirements, you must not access or use the Services.

Certain features of our Services, including saving words to notebooks, spaced repetition reviews, and progress tracking, require you to create an account. Account Creation You may register using an email address and password, or through Google OAuth. When registering, you agree to: • Provide accurate, current, and complete information • Maintain and promptly update your account information • Keep your password secure and confidential • Not share your account credentials with any third party • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account Account Responsibility You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not authorized by you. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain the security of your account credentials. Account Linking If you link a Google account to your 2hongo account, you may unlink it at any time through your Profile settings, provided you have an alternative sign-in method (email and password) configured. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that we reasonably believe violates these Terms, is used fraudulently, or has been inactive for an extended period, with reasonable notice where practicable.

2hongo provides a Japanese language learning platform that includes the following features: • Word Database: Access to 214,000+ Japanese word entries with readings, meanings, example sentences, word relationships, pitch accent, and audio pronunciations • Spaced Repetition System (SRS): Personalized vocabulary review using the SM-2 algorithm with swipeable flashcards and progress tracking • Personal Notebooks: Create and organize vocabulary collections with custom notebooks, tags, notes, and mastery levels • Grammar Reference: 400+ searchable grammar patterns organized by JLPT level with examples and explanations • Japanese Basics: 34+ structured learning pages covering writing systems, pronunciation, conjugation, essential vocabulary, and reference tables • Stroke Order and Practice: Animated stroke order display and interactive drawing practice for hiragana, katakana, and kanji • Language Tools: Text parser, full-width/half-width converter, kana converter, and Japanese era converter • Curated Vocabulary Lists: Thematic word collections with filtering and sorting capabilities Service Availability While we strive to maintain continuous availability of our Services, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of significant changes that affect your use of the Services. Free and Premium Services Our Services are currently offered free of charge with advertisements. We may introduce premium subscription tiers in the future with additional features. Any changes to pricing or feature availability will be communicated in advance.

Our Content All content provided through the Services — including but not limited to word database entries, example sentences, grammar explanations, learning materials, stroke order data, user interface designs, logos, and trademarks (collectively, "Our Content") — is owned by or licensed to 2hongo and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Our word database is built upon the JMdict/EDICT open-source dictionary project and enriched with AI-generated examples and additional data. The underlying JMdict data is used in accordance with its Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License. All enhancements, original content, and the platform itself remain the intellectual property of 2hongo. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use Our Content solely for personal, non-commercial Japanese language learning purposes. You may not: • Copy, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display Our Content beyond what is necessary for personal study • Create derivative works based on Our Content for commercial purposes • Use automated tools, scrapers, or bots to extract data from the Services • Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices Your Content Content you create within the Services — such as notebook names, personal notes, tags, and custom organization — remains yours. By using the Services, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Services to you. Third-Party Content Our Services may display content from third-party sources, including advertisements served through Google AdSense. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or legality of third-party content. Your interaction with third-party advertisements and services is governed by those third parties' terms and policies.

You agree to use our Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. When using our Services, you must not: Abusive Behavior • Harass, threaten, impersonate, or intimidate other users • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information • Create multiple accounts for deceptive or abusive purposes • Use offensive, obscene, or inappropriate usernames or display names Technical Misuse • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, servers, or other users' accounts • Introduce malware, viruses, or any harmful code • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features • Use automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or collect data from the Services without our written permission • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Services Content Misuse • Systematically download, copy, or redistribute Our Content • Use the Services to build a competing product or service • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit any aspect of the Services • Use the Services for any commercial purpose not expressly authorized by us Violation of these acceptable use terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

Our Services display advertisements through Google AdSense to support the free availability of the platform. By using our Services, you acknowledge and agree that: • Advertisements may appear on word detail pages, grammar pages, and browsing pages throughout the Services • We do not display advertisements during vocabulary review sessions to preserve the learning experience • Ad content is provided by third-party advertising networks and does not constitute our endorsement • You will not use ad-blocking tools in a manner that interferes with the proper functioning of the Services • Ad personalization is managed by Google and subject to Google's privacy policy and ad settings We make reasonable efforts to ensure that advertisements are non-intrusive and do not significantly detract from the learning experience.

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using our Services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy. While we strive to ensure accuracy, we do not guarantee that all content — including word definitions, example sentences, grammar explanations, and AI-generated content — is error-free. Our Services should not be considered a substitute for professional language instruction, accredited courses, or certified textbooks. AI-Generated Content Certain content in our Services, including example sentences and word relationships, is generated using artificial intelligence. While we review and curate this content for quality, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors or inaccuracies. We encourage users to cross-reference important information with authoritative sources. Service Availability THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL 2HONGO, ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: • Loss of data, learning progress, or saved content • Loss of profits, revenue, or anticipated savings • Loss of use or inability to access the Services • Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data • Any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in the content • Personal injury or property damage related to your use of the Services OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless 2hongo and its operators, affiliates, licensors, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: • Your use of or access to the Services • Your violation of these Terms • Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights • Your violation of any applicable law or regulation • Any content you submit, post, or transmit through the Services This indemnification obligation shall survive the termination of these Terms and your use of the Services.

By You You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it through your Profile > Security settings. Upon deletion, all your personal data, learning progress, notebooks, saved words, and review history will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. By Us We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, including but not limited to cases where: • You breach any provision of these Terms • Your conduct negatively impacts the Services or other users • We are required to do so by law • We discontinue the Services or any part thereof Where practicable and not prohibited by law, we will provide reasonable notice before termination and an opportunity to export your data. Effect of Termination Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall remain in effect, including but not limited to: intellectual property rights, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution.

Our Services may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, services, or content that are not owned or controlled by 2hongo. These include but are not limited to: • Google OAuth for account authentication • Google AdSense for advertising • External dictionary and reference resources We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. You acknowledge and agree that we are not responsible or liable for any damage or loss caused by or in connection with the use of any third-party services. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with through our platform.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Informal Resolution Before initiating any formal dispute proceeding, you agree to first contact us through our contact form to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will make good-faith efforts to resolve any dispute within 30 days of receiving your notice. Formal Proceedings If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, you agree that any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts of competent jurisdiction, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts. Class Action Waiver To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable. Waiver Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by an authorized representative of 2hongo. Assignment You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction. Force Majeure We shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, power failures, internet disruptions, or pandemic-related events. Language These Terms are drafted in English. Translations are provided for convenience only. In case of any conflict between the English version and a translated version, the English version shall prevail.
