Expresses that action X occurs before action Y. Usually implies that X must be completed as a prerequisite for Y to happen.

手を洗ってから、ご飯を食べます。

I will eat after washing my hands.

この本を読んでから、寝ます。

I will go to bed after reading this book.

よく考えてから、返事をします。

I will reply after thinking it over carefully.

宿題をしてから、遊びに行きます。

I will go out to play after doing my homework.
