handakuten (alternate term) — the small circular diacritic (゜) attached to kana to change an 'h' sound into a 'p' sound.
教科書では半濁音符と書かれることもあるが、意味は半濁点と同じだ。
Textbooks sometimes write 'handakuenpu', but it has the same meaning as 'handakuten'.
パ行の表記には濁点ではなく半濁音符を用いる。
