1To fly or soar through the air, as a bird, plane, or insect does. Usually written 飛ぶ for this sense.

2To jump, leap, or spring up off the ground. Often written 跳ぶ when a person or animal is jumping.

He leapt over the ditch in one go and crossed to the other side.

The cat was startled and jumped high into the air.
選手は助走をつけて思いきり遠くへ跳んだ。
The athlete took a running start and jumped as far as they could.
うれしさのあまり、その場で跳んで喜んだ。
I was so happy that I jumped for joy right there on the spot.
3To spatter, scatter, or splash; said of liquid drops, sparks, debris, etc. flying about.
フライパンの油がはねて、シャツに飛んでしまった。
Oil splashed from the frying pan and got all over my shirt.
溶接の火花が四方に飛んでいて危ない。
Sparks from the welding are flying in all directions; it's dangerous.
雨の日に車が通ると、泥水が歩道まで飛んでくる。
On rainy days, when a car passes, muddy water splashes all the way to the sidewalk.
4To hurry or rush somewhere. Mostly used in forms like 飛ぶように or 飛んで行く／来る.
知らせを聞いて、彼女は病院まで飛んで行った。
On hearing the news, she rushed off to the hospital.
呼ばれたらすぐに飛んで来てくれて助かったよ。

5To flee, run off, or take off suddenly from a place.
犯人は警察が来る前にどこかへ飛んでしまった。
The culprit took off somewhere before the police arrived.
借金を抱えたまま、彼は夜のうちに町を飛んだらしい。
Apparently he skipped town during the night, still buried in debt.
6To disappear, vanish, or fade; said of colors, memory, data, etc. that are lost or wiped out.
保存する前にパソコンが落ちて、データが全部飛んでしまった。
The computer crashed before I saved, and all the data was wiped out.
強い光のせいで、写真の白い部分が飛んでいる。
Because of the strong light, the white areas of the photo are blown out.
緊張で、話そうとしていたことが頭から飛んでしまった。
I was so nervous that what I'd planned to say completely slipped my mind.
7To come off, break off, or fall off; also said of a fuse or breaker blowing.
電子レンジとドライヤーを同時に使ったら、ブレーカーが飛んだ。
When I used the microwave and the hair dryer at the same time, the breaker blew.
ボタンが一つ飛んでいるので、後で付け直さないといけない。
One of the buttons has come off, so I'll have to sew it back on later.
8To be sent out or to fly about; said of orders, rumors, jeers, or calls spreading quickly.
店長から「急いで！」という指示が次々に飛んだ。
Orders of "Hurry up!" kept flying from the store manager one after another.

In the middle of the presentation, a sharp question flew out from the audience.
9To come flying at someone; said of a punch, kick, thrown object, etc. arriving with force.
よけきれずに、相手のパンチが顔に飛んできた。
I couldn't dodge in time, and the opponent's punch came flying at my face.
観客席からビンや物が飛んできて、試合が一時中断した。
Bottles and objects came flying from the stands, and the match was briefly suspended.
10To be missing or skipped (a page, a step, a stitch), or for a conversation to jump abruptly.
