ケン「最近、プラスチックのごみを減らそうとする運動が増えてきたね。」
Ken: "Lately, movements to reduce plastic waste have been increasing, haven't they?"
ユミ「そうだね。私も、コンビニなどへ買い物に行くたびに、マイバッグを持って行くようにしているよ。」
Yumi: "That's right. I'm also making an effort to take my own bag every time I go shopping at places like convenience stores."
ケン「それはいいことだね。少しずつでも一人ひとりが気をつければ、環境は良くなっていくに違いないよ。」
Ken: "That's a good thing. There's no doubt that if each and every one of us is careful, even just a little at a time, the environment will improve."
ユミ「うん。それにしても、海に残されたごみの問題は深刻だよね。ニュースなどを見るたびに、もっと自分で何かできることはないかなって考えるばかりなんだ。」
Yumi: "Yeah. Even so, the problem of litter left in the ocean is serious, isn't it? Every time I see news about it, I find myself thinking if there's anything more I can do myself."
ケン「確かにそうだね。私たちにとって、自然を守ることは生きていく上でとても大切なことだからね。」
Ken: "That's certainly true. For us, protecting nature is very important for our survival."
ユミ「今度の日曜日に、近くの海や川をきれいにするボランティア活動があるらしいんだけど、一緒に行ってみない？」
Yumi: "I heard there's a volunteer activity to clean up nearby seas and rivers this coming Sunday. Would you like to go together?"
ケン「うん、ぜひ参加したいな。そういった活動を通して、どうすればごみを減らせるのかを学ぶいいきっかけになると思うよ。」
Ken: "Yeah, I'd definitely like to participate. I think through such activities, it will be a good opportunity to learn how we can reduce waste."
