〜だらけ

Formation

N3TendencyNeutral
Dict. Form
Noun
だらけ

Meaning

Indicates that something is covered with or contains a large amount of something, usually undesirable or messy.

Note

Almost always used for negative or unpleasant things (mud, trash, mistakes, debt). Unlike '〜まみれ', which describes something being smeared with a liquid or powder (blood, mud, sweat), '〜だらけ' is more general and can describe non-physical things like mistakes. Contrast with '〜ずくめ', which is often used for a series of positive events or a uniform appearance.

Examples

この部屋は、ゴミだらけだ。
