Formation
Meaning
Used to give suggestions or examples of actions/things that would be acceptable. It implies 'either ~ or ~, just do something.'
Note
It is often used when giving instructions or suggestions, but should not be used with superiors as it can sound a bit direct.
Examples
煮るなり焼くなり、好きにしてください。
Boil it or bake it, please do as you like with it.
分からないことがあれば、辞書で調べるなり先生に聞くなりしなさい。
If there's something you don't understand, look it up in a dictionary or ask a teacher.
休みの日には、映画を見るなり買い物に行くなりして過ごします。
On my days off, I spend time watching movies or going shopping.
連絡は電話なりメールなりでお願いします。
