Meaning

Indicates that no matter how much one performs an action, the desired or expected result will not be achieved. It emphasizes futility.

Note

Often preceded by adverbs like 'ikura' (no matter how much) or 'donnani' (no matter how). The sentence typically ends with a negative or hopeless expression.
