3Easily; readily; without much effort — indicating that something happens with little difficulty. Often used to describe a tendency, as in すぐ忘れる (forgets easily) or すぐ泣く (cries easily).
彼は外国語をすぐ覚えるタイプだ。
He's the type of person who picks up foreign languages easily.
妹は感動するとすぐ泣いてしまう。
My little sister bursts into tears as soon as she gets emotional.
最近、人の名前をすぐ忘れるようになった。
Lately, I've started forgetting people's names easily.
4Right (near); just; nearby — indicating that something is physically very close. Common collocations include すぐそこ (just over there), すぐ隣 (right next to), and すぐ近く (very close by).
駅はすぐそこです。
The station is just over there.
うちのアパートはコンビニのすぐ隣にある。
My apartment is right next to the convenience store.
学校は家からすぐなので、毎日歩いて通っている。
School is right near my house, so I walk there every day.
5(archaic) Honest; upright; straightforward — describing a frank, sincere character. A literary or old-fashioned usage as in すぐな心 (an honest heart); rarely used in modern conversation, where 素直 or 正直 are used instead.
祖父はすぐな心の持ち主だった。
My grandfather was a man of an honest, upright heart.
