The act of depositing something or entrusting it to someone/institution. Used for bank deposits (putting money into an account) and for leaving luggage or items in someone’s care. The verb form is 預け入れる.
給料は毎月15日に口座への自動預け入れで受け取っている。
I receive my salary each month by automatic deposit into my account on the 15th.
空港では大型の荷物を預け入れカウンターで預け入れた。
At the airport I checked in my large luggage at the baggage counter.
預け入れ手数料がかかる場合は、事前に確認しておこう。
