アリス「日本に来てから、電車の中でみんなが静かにしていることに驚いたんですけど、それが日本では普通なんですよね。」
Alice: "Since coming to Japan, I was surprised that everyone stays quiet on the train, but that's normal in Japan, isn't it?"
タケシ「そうですね。日本では、周りの人の迷惑にならないように気をつけることになっているんですよ。」
Takeshi: "That's right. In Japan, it's expected that people take care not to be a nuisance to those around them."
アリス「私の国では、バスや電車の中で友達と楽しくおしゃべりをするのはよくあることなので、最初は少し寂しいなと感じたんです。」
Alice: "In my country, it's common to talk cheerfully with friends on the bus or train, so at first, I felt a little lonely."
タケシ「なるほど。文化の違いですね。私も以前外国へ行った際に、お店の人がとてもフレンドリーに話しかけてきて、びっくりした経験があるんです。」
Takeshi: "I see. It's a difference in culture. I also had an experience when I went abroad before where a shop assistant talked to me very friendlily, and I was surprised."
アリス「確かに、そういう接客の仕方も国によって全く違いますよね。」
Alice: "Indeed, those ways of serving customers are completely different depending on the country, aren't they?"
タケシ「どの国の文化にもそれぞれ良いところがあって、互いに学んでいくことは面白いなあって思うんですよ。」
Takeshi: "I think it's interesting that every country's culture has its own good points and that we can learn from each other."
