ある森に、お母さんやぎと七匹の子やぎが住んでいました。ある日、お母さんは森へ食べ物を探しに行く前に言いました。「誰が来ても、絶対にドアを開けてはいけませんよ。」
In a certain forest, there lived a mother goat and seven little goats. One day, before the mother went to the forest to search for food, she said, "No matter who comes, you must never open the door."
しばらくして、悪い狼が来ました。「お母さんですよ。開けてください」と狼は言いました。でも、声がとても低かったので、子やぎたちは「お母さんの声じゃない」と言って開けませんでした。
After a while, a wicked wolf came. "It's mother. Please open up," the wolf said. However, because his voice was very low, the little goats said "That's not mother's voice" and did not open it.
狼はチョークを食べて声を高くしました。そして、また来ました。「お母さんですよ。」でも、窓から見えた足が黒かったので、子やぎたちはまたドアを開けませんでした。
The wolf ate chalk to make his voice higher. Then, he came again. "It's mother." But because the feet seen from the window were black, the little goats did not open the door again.
次に、狼はパン屋で足に白い粉を塗ってもらいました。子やぎたちは白い足を見て、「本当にお母さんだ」と思って、ドアを開けてしまいました。
Next, the wolf had white flour applied to his feet at a bakery. The little goats saw the white feet, thought "It really is mother," and opened the door.
狼は家に入って、子やぎたちをどんどん食べてしまいました。一番小さい子やぎだけは、時計の中に隠れて助かりました。
The wolf entered the house and ate up the little goats one after another. Only the youngest little goat hiding inside a clock was saved.
お母さんが帰ってきて、泣きながら狼を探しに行きました。狼は木の下で寝ていました。お母さんは狼のお腹をハサミで切って、六匹の子やぎを助けました。
Mother came home and went to search for the wolf while crying. The wolf was sleeping under a tree. Mother cut open the wolf's belly with scissors and saved the six little goats.
代わりに狼のお腹に石をたくさん入れて、糸で縫いました。狼が起きて川の水を飲もうとした時、重い石のせいで川に落ちて死んでしまいました。
Instead, she put many stones into the wolf's belly and sewed it up with thread. When the wolf woke up and tried to drink river water, he fell into the river due to the heavy stones and died.
