〜しか〜ない

Formation:

Noun + しか + (否定動詞)

Only. Used when you feel the degree or amount is less than expected. The verb must always be in negative form.

お金が千円しかない。

I only have 1000 yen.

時間が五分しかありません。

There are only 5 minutes left.

この店にはコーヒーしか置いていない。

This shop only has coffee.

彼は英語しか話せません。

He can only speak English.

今日は一人しか来なかった。

Only one person came today.
