〜ないことには〜ない

Meaning
Used to express that if a certain condition is not fulfilled, the subsequent result will not happen or cannot be achieved. The sentence usually ends with a negative expression.
Note
Indicates a necessary condition. 'A is necessary for B to happen.' The second clause (after 'wa') is almost always negative ('~nai', '~muri da', etc.), meaning B won't happen unless A happens first. It is slightly more formal and emphatic than using 'ba' or 'tara'.

実際に会ってみないことには、本当のところはわからない。
Unless I actually meet them, I won't know the truth.
やってみないことには、できるかどうか判断できない。
Unless you try, you can't judge whether you can do it or not.
面白くないことには、誰も見てくれないだろう。
Unless it's interesting, no one will probably watch it.
安くないことには、この商品は売れない。
Unless it's cheap, this product won't sell.
親切ではないことには、いい教育者にはなれない。
Unless you are kind, you can't be a good educator.
