An article about the kinds of Japanese green tea and the moments people enjoy it.

For Japanese people, tea is part of daily life. From the moment they wake up in the morning until just before bed at night, they drink tea at home and at work. There are even many people who prefer tea over coffee.

Among the teas of Japan, green tea is probably the most famous. Green tea comes in many varieties, such as sencha, hojicha, and genmaicha. Matcha is a powdered tea that is a little bitter, but when you drink it with traditional Japanese sweets, it tastes wonderful.

Japan has had a tea culture for a long time. There is a tradition called the tea ceremony, where the host quietly settles their heart before preparing the tea. Then the tea is served to the guest, who sips it while also enjoying a sweet. I think this is one form of Japanese hospitality.

People also drink tea with meals. A cup of warm tea after eating helps you feel calm and relaxed. Many restaurants and cafeterias serve free tea rather than just water. At sushi restaurants, green tea is especially common.

These days, you can buy bottled tea at convenience stores and vending machines. You can take it to school or work, and it is also nice to drink while traveling. Cold tea is popular in summer, and warm tea is popular in winter.
