My name is Haruka Yamada. I am a twenty-three-year-old woman. I live in Tokyo now, but I am originally from Hokkaido. Hokkaido is a very cold place, but the snow is beautiful and the food is delicious. My family and friends are there, so I go back to Hokkaido twice a year.
家族は四人です。父と母と妹と私です。父は学校の先生で、母は病院で働いています。妹はまだ高校生です。妹は私より背が高いですが、私のほうがお姉さんですから、よく妹に色々なことを教えます。家族みんな、私のことを心配してくれるから、いつもありがたいと思います。
There are four people in my family: my father, my mother, my younger sister, and me. My father is a school teacher, and my mother works at a hospital. My sister is still in high school. She is taller than me, but since I am the older sister, I often teach her various things. My whole family worries about me, and I am always grateful for that.

I currently work at a small company in Tokyo. I have only been a company employee for two years. The work is a little tough, but it is interesting, so I enjoy going to work every day. It takes about forty minutes to get to the office by train. On the train, I listen to music and read books.
趣味は映画を見ることです。家でゆっくり映画を見ながら、コーヒーを飲む時間がいちばん好きです。日本の映画もアメリカの映画も好きですが、韓国の映画がいちばん面白いと思います。週末は、よく友達と新しいカフェに行ったり、映画館に行ったりします。
My hobby is watching movies. My favorite time is sitting at home, slowly watching a movie while drinking coffee. I like both Japanese and American movies, but I think Korean movies are the most interesting. On weekends, I often go to new cafés or to the cinema with friends.
食べ物の中で、すしとラーメンが大好きです。料理もできますから、家でもよく作ります。お酒はあまり飲みませんが、友達と一緒の時は、少しだけビールを飲みます。新しい店を見つけることも好きで、休みの日にいろいろな町を歩きます。
Among foods, I love sushi and ramen. I can cook, too, so I often make meals at home. I don't drink much alcohol, but when I'm with friends, I'll have a little beer. I also love discovering new shops, so on days off I walk around different neighborhoods.
私は日本語と英語を話すことができます。今は中国語も勉強しています。外国語は難しいですけど、新しい言葉を覚えるのは楽しいです。将来は、もっと色々な国に行きたいです。そして、いつか自分のお店を開きたいと思っています。
I can speak Japanese and English. I am also studying Chinese now. Foreign languages are difficult, but learning new words is fun. In the future, I want to visit many more countries. And someday, I hope to open my own shop.
