Meaning
Used to connect two clauses with opposing meanings, or to soften the connection between sentences. It is similar to 'but' or 'however' in English.
Note
'けど' is the most casual and frequently used in speech. 'けれど' is slightly more formal, and 'けれども' is even more formal, suitable for polite or public situations.
