新幹線は日本で一番速い電車で、世界中でも有名です。1964年の東京オリンピックに合わせて、東京と大阪の間で走り始めました。この最初の路線は東海道新幹線と呼ばれていて、今でも一番利用されている路線です。
The Shinkansen is the fastest train in Japan and famous around the world. It began running between Tokyo and Osaka in 1964, timed to the Tokyo Olympics. This first line is called the Tokaido Shinkansen, and it remains the most heavily used route today.
