昔々、シンデレラという優しくて美しい女の子がいました。彼女の継母と二人の姉はとても意地悪で、シンデレラにばかり掃除や洗濯をさせていました。ある日、お城で王子様の舞踏会が開かれることになりましたが、シンデレラには着ていくドレスがありませんでした。
Once upon a time, there was a kind and beautiful girl named Cinderella. Her stepmother and two older sisters were very mean, making only Cinderella do all the cleaning and laundry. One day, a ball was to be held at the castle for the prince, but Cinderella had no dress to wear.
シンデレラが泣いていると、魔法使いのおばあさんが現れました。おばあさんは魔法を使って、かぼちゃを馬車にし、汚い服を美しいドレスに変えてくれました。そして、「夜の十二時までに必ず帰ってきなさい。魔法が消えてしまうからです」と言いました。
While Cinderella was crying, an old fairy godmother appeared. The old lady used magic to turn a pumpkin into a carriage and changed her dirty clothes into a beautiful dress. Then she said, "You must come back by twelve o'clock at night. This is because the magic will disappear."
お城に着くと、王子様はシンデレラを一目見て好きになり、ずっと一緒に踊りました。しかし、時計が十二時を打ち始めたので、彼女は急いで走って逃げました。その時、靴が脱げて落ちてしまいましたが、拾う時間がありませんでした。
When she arrived at the castle, the prince fell in love with Cinderella at first sight, and they danced together the whole time. However, since the clock began striking twelve, she hurriedly ran away. At that moment, her shoe slipped off and fell, but she had no time to pick it up.
王子様は、そのガラスの靴に合う女の人を探し始めました。継母や姉たちも履いてみましたが、小さすぎて履けませんでした。最後にシンデレラが履いてみると、ぴったりでした。王子様とシンデレラは結婚して、幸せな生活を送りました。
The prince began searching for a woman who fit that glass slipper. The stepmother and sisters also tried it on, but it was too small and they couldn't wear it. Finally, when Cinderella tried it on, it fit perfectly. The prince and Cinderella got married and lived a happy life.
