私は毎朝六時半に起きます。窓を開けると、外はまだ少し暗いです。母が台所でみそ汁を作っていますから、家の中はいいにおいでいっぱいです。私は顔を洗ってから、ご飯を食べに行きます。
I wake up at six thirty every morning. When I open the window, it is still a little dark outside. My mother is making miso soup in the kitchen, so the house is full of a nice smell. After I wash my face, I go to eat breakfast.
朝ごはんはご飯とみそ汁と卵だけですが、私はこの時間がいちばん好きです。食べながら、母とその日の天気の話をします。「今日は雨が降るから、傘を持っていきなさい」と母が言いました。私は「はい」と答えて、かばんの中に小さい傘を入れました。
Breakfast is only rice, miso soup, and an egg, but I like this time of day the best. While we eat, I talk with my mother about the weather. "It is going to rain today, so take an umbrella," she said. I answered "okay" and put a small umbrella in my bag.
七時十分に家を出ます。家から駅まで自転車で五分ぐらいです。雨の日は自転車に乗ることができませんから、歩いて行きます。今日は雨でしたから、歩きました。少し時間がかかりましたが、道のあじさいの花がとてもきれいでした。
I leave home at ten past seven. From my house to the station takes about five minutes by bicycle. On rainy days I cannot ride my bicycle, so I walk. It rained today, so I walked. It took a little longer, but the hydrangeas along the road were very pretty.
新宿駅はいつもとても混んでいます。電車が来る前に、ホームには人がたくさん並んでいます。私はいつも同じ場所に立って、電車を待ちます。電車の中では、本を読んだり、音楽を聞いたりします。窓の外を見ながら、今日の授業のことを考えます。
Shinjuku Station is always very crowded. Before the train arrives, lots of people are lined up on the platform. I always stand in the same spot and wait for the train. On the train, I read a book or listen to music. While I look out the window, I think about today's classes.
学校の前の駅に着くと、友達がよく待っています。「おはよう」と言って、一緒に学校まで歩きます。学校は駅から十分ぐらいですが、友達と話しながら歩くと、近く感じます。途中にパン屋があって、いいにおいがします。時々、そこで小さいパンを買って食べたりします。
When I arrive at the station in front of my school, my friend is often already waiting. We say "good morning" and walk to school together. The school is about ten minutes from the station, but when I walk while chatting with my friend, it feels close. There is a bakery on the way that smells wonderful. Sometimes we stop to buy a small piece of bread and eat it.
学校に着くのは八時十分ごろです。授業が始まる前に、教室で少し休みます。電車で行くのは少し疲れますけど、毎日同じ道を通るのは楽しいと思います。来年は自分の自転車でもっと遠くまで行きたいです。でも、今は電車の旅がいちばん好きです。
I arrive at school around eight ten. Before class starts, I rest for a bit in the classroom. Going by train is a little tiring, but I think taking the same route every day is fun. Next year I want to ride my own bicycle even farther. For now, though, I like the train ride the best.
