昨日の夜、私は高校の友達に電話をかけました。仕事が終わってから家に帰って、ご飯を食べた後に、ソファーに座ってスマホを取りました。最近会っていなかったので、声が聞きたいと思いました。
Last night, I called a friend from high school. After work, I went home, ate dinner, then sat on the sofa and picked up my phone. We hadn't seen each other recently, so I wanted to hear her voice.
電話のベルが三回鳴った後に、友達が出ました。「もしもし、久しぶり！」と元気な声が聞こえました。私もうれしくなって、「元気だった？」と聞きました。前に会ったのは半年ぐらい前ですから、本当に久しぶりでした。
After the phone rang three times, my friend answered. "Hello, it's been a while!" — a cheerful voice came through. I felt happy too and asked, "How have you been?" The last time we met was about half a year ago, so it really had been a long time.
友達は今、新しい会社で働いています。仕事は少し大変だけど、毎日楽しいと言いました。私の仕事の話もしました。私の会社は友達の会社より小さいですが、人はみんな親切です。お互いの生活について、ゆっくり話すことができました。
My friend is now working at a new company. She said the work is a little tough, but every day is fun. I also talked about my own job. My company is smaller than hers, but everyone there is kind. We were able to slowly talk about each other's lives.
それから、来週の週末の予定について話しました。土曜日に一緒に映画を見たり、新しいカフェでお茶を飲んだりしたいと思っています。友達は「駅の前の小さなカフェがいいよ」と教えてくれました。そのカフェのケーキはとてもおいしいそうです。私はそのカフェに行ったことがないから、本当に楽しみです。
After that, we talked about plans for next weekend. On Saturday, we want to watch a movie together and have tea at a new cafe. My friend told me, "The little cafe in front of the station is nice." Apparently the cakes there are really good. I have never been to that cafe, so I am truly looking forward to it.
電話で話しながら、私は窓の外を見ていました。空には星が出ていて、とてもきれいでした。友達の声を聞いていると、心が温かくなりました。短い時間だけでしたが、大切な時間でした。
While talking on the phone, I was looking out the window. Stars were out in the sky, and it was very beautiful. As I listened to my friend's voice, my heart felt warm. It was only a short time, but it was precious time.
電話は一時間ぐらい続きました。最後に「また来週ね」と言って、電話を切りました。会って話すのも好きですが、忙しい時は電話で話すのも楽しいと思います。来週の土曜日が待ち遠しいです。
The call lasted about an hour. At the end, we said, "See you next week," and hung up. I like meeting in person to talk, but when we are busy, talking on the phone is fun too. I can't wait for next Saturday.
