日本で生活するためには、銀行の口座を作る必要があります。今日、駅の近くの銀行に口座を開きに行きました。
To live in Japan, you need to open a bank account. Today I went to a bank near the station to open one.
窓口で「口座を開きたいんですが」と言うと、スタッフの方が書類を持ってきてくれました。名前や住所を書いてから、パスポートを見せなければなりませんでした。
When I said at the counter that I wanted to open an account, a staff member brought me the forms. After I wrote my name and address, I had to show my passport.
３０分ぐらいで手続きが終わりました。キャッシュカードは一週間後に届く予定だそうです。届くまでは、通帳を使ってお金を出し入れすることになります。
The procedures took about thirty minutes. My cash card is supposed to arrive in a week. Until it arrives, I will use my passbook to deposit and withdraw money.
その後、郵便局にも行きました。国の家族に荷物を送るためです。箱に品物を入れて、伝票に送り先を書きました。
After that I also went to the post office. I needed to send a package to my family in my home country. I put the items in a box and wrote the destination on the shipping slip.
郵便局の人に「船便なら安いですが、届くまで二か月ぐらいかかりますよ。航空便のほうが早いですが、少し高くなります」と教えてもらいました。
A postal worker told me that sea mail is cheaper but takes about two months to arrive. Airmail is faster but costs a little more.
急いでいるので、航空便にすることにしました。一週間で届くらしいです。家族が喜んでくれるといいなと思います。
Because I was in a hurry, I chose airmail. It should arrive in about a week. I hope my family will be pleased when they get it.
