大学に入ってから、アルバイトを始めようと思っていました。友達に「駅前のカフェが人を探しているらしいよ」と教えてもらいました。
Since I entered university I had been thinking of starting a part-time job. A friend told me, "I hear the cafe in front of the station is looking for people."
面接の日、スーツを着て早めに店に行きました。遅刻しないように、３０分前に家を出ることにしました。
On the day of the interview I wore a suit and went to the shop early. So I would not be late, I decided to leave home thirty minutes early.
店長が「いつから働けますか」と聞きました。「来週から始められます」と答えました。それから、週に何日働けるかどうかも聞かれました。
The manager asked, "When can you start working?" I answered, "I can start next week." After that I was also asked how many days a week I could work.
店長は「うちの店では、笑顔でお客さんに話しかけることが大切ですよ」と言いました。接客は初めてなので少し緊張しましたが、やってみたいと思いました。
The manager said, "At our shop it is important to speak to customers with a smile." I had never done customer service before, so I felt a little nervous, but I wanted to try it.
面接が終わった後、店長が「明後日から来てください」と言ってくれました。とても嬉しくて、家に帰ってすぐ母に電話しました。
After the interview the manager said, "Please come starting the day after tomorrow." I was very happy and called my mother as soon as I got home.
来週からアルバイトが始まる予定です。早く仕事に慣れるように頑張るつもりです。
My part-time job is scheduled to start next week. I plan to work hard so I can get used to the job quickly.
