Talking About the Environment

A conversation discussing reducing plastic waste and participating in volunteer activities.

友達A

Lately there have been more and more movements trying to cut down on plastic waste, haven't there?

There have. Whenever I go shopping at a convenience store or supermarket, I try to bring my own bag as much as I can.

友達A

That's a great thing. If each of us is just a little bit careful, the environment is sure to get better over time.

I want to believe that. Even so, the problem of garbage left in the ocean is really serious, isn't it?

友達A

Every time I see footage on the news of the sea full of plastic, I just keep wondering if there's more I could be doing myself.

I know what you mean. For us, protecting nature is incredibly important for the way we live. The small choices we make every day are tied to the future far ahead of us.

友達A

Speaking of which — I heard there's a volunteer event this Sunday to clean up the river nearby. Want to go together?

Sure, I'd really like to take part. Through activities like that, I think we'd get a great chance to actually learn how to cut down on waste.

友達A

Settled, then. I'll send you the meeting spot and time by message later.

Thanks. Since we're at it, it might be nice to invite some other friends and all go together.

友達A

That's a great idea. Thinking about it alone, versus talking it through with everyone — the second is bound to be more sustainable.
