今は昔、芥川というところに、たいそう弓の上手な武士が住んでいた。その射る矢は百発百中で、近郷から遠くの土地まで、その名が知られていた。なかでも、夜の闇の中で動く獣を射当てる腕前にかけては、当時並ぶ者がないと言われていた。
